September 19, 1913 --- February 20, 2005

Earnest G. Partello, 91, of Marshalltown died Sunday, February 20, 2005 at the Iowa Veterans Home. A graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, May 26, 2005 at the Fort Dodge Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Evelyn Lewiston officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the VFW Post 1856 of Fort Dodge.

Earnest was born September 19, 1913 the son of Lloyd and Myrtle (Grimm) Partello on a farm in Boone County, IA. Earnest enlisted in the United States Army in April of 1942 and was honorably discharged in November of 1945. He served his tour in the European Theatre. After returning from the service Earnest went to work for the Chicago Great Northwestern Railroad. He later was employed by the Standard Engineers and Georgia Pacific railroad before joining the staff at U.S.G. Earnest was employed with U.S.G. for 15 years. In 1980 he moved to the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown were he enjoyed his involvement in numerous activities. Earnest was always thankful for the excellent care he received. Earnest was a member of the VFW Post 839 of Marshalltown.

Those thankful for having shared in Earnest's life include 4 nieces; Mary Williams, Georgia McFarland, Judy (Elwood) Schmieder, and Lillian (Harold) Jones, two nephews; Lloyd Partello, and Rogers McFarland, and several cousins. Mr. Partello was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters; Harty McFarland, Emily Morganthaler and one brother; Leo Partello. Bruce-Graham Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
