Arthur D. Thebiay Funeral Tuesday In the Methodist Church

Arthur D. Thebiay, 76, died suddenly Friday morning in Lutheran Hospital, Ft. Dodge where he had been a patient for about a week. A lifetime resident of Troy township and Eagle Grove, Mr. Thebiay had farmed for many years, just west of Eagle Grove. He is survived by his wife and five sisters, Mrs. Mary Wasem of Harrisburg. S.D., Mrs. Jennie Weaver of Culver City, Calif., Mrs. George Lewis of Willmar, Minn., Mrs. Delia Bulis and Mrs. Tressie Nelson of this city.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Methodist church in charge of Rev. Roy Cox. Interment was in Rose Hill Cemetery. Casket bearers were Robert Derschied, Arden Thompson, Donald Brisbin, Sumner Paine, Russell Blue and James Abbott.

OBITUARY

Arthur D. Thebiay, the fifth of nine children born to Edward and Lydia Barlow Thebiay was born the 26th day of January, 1883 in Troy Township Wright County, Iowa. While he was still an infant his parents moved the family to a farm four miles west of Eagle Grove where he grew to manhood. He attended the rural school of this community and was a life long resident of Wright County. He was engaged in the occupation of farming all his life and was never happier than when busily working in his fields.

He had been a member of the Methodist Church for many years and when his health permitted he found real joy in worshiping with the congregation. He joined the Masonic Lodge in April 1920; was a member of Bower Lodge of Eagle Grove, also of the Chapter No 123 R A M and of Medina Council No. 26 and of Mt Lebanon Commandery No 61 and of Za Ga Zig Shrine. He was also a member of the Eastern Star, White Shrine, Golden Links Lodge and the Rebeka Lodge.

On the 14th day of February, 1924 he was married to Delia Fern Thompson. Mr. Thebiay had been in failing health for the last three years but his death was sudden and unexpected. On the morning of November 6th he was stricken with a coronary attack and passed away very peacefully. He is survived by his wife and five sisters: Mrs. Mary Wasem of Harrisburg, S.D.; Mrs. Jennie Weaver of Culver City, Calif.; Mrs. Geo. Lewis of Willmar, Minn.; Mrs. Delia Bulis and Mrs. Tressie Nelson of Eagle Grove. Two brothers and one sister preceded him in death. At the time of his death Mr. Thebiay was 76 years, 9 months and 11 days of age.
