February 7, 1882 --- June 28, 1963

Mrs. Katherine Wooster, 81, died Friday evening in the Lutheran hospital at Guymon, Okla. following a few hours of illness. Mrs. Wooster and daughter Emma were enroute home from Phoenix, Ariz , where they had visited a month with her son-in-law and daughter Mr. and Mrs. Robert Christopher. About 2 o'clock Friday afternoon, Mrs. Wooster became ill on the train and a doctor passenger gave assistance and suggested that she be taken off the train at the next stop which was about 30 miles. The train conductor wired ahead and an ambulance met the train and transferred Mrs. Wooster to the hospital. Her condition failed rapidly, and she died about 9 p.m.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Evangelical Lutheran church with Pastor Kenneth R. Torvik officiating. Burial was in Rose Hill cemetery. Six of her grandsons, Frank H. Tanner, Fred G. Tanner, Fredrick Wooster, Douglas Wooster, Herman Winter and Donald Martin were casket bearers.

Mr. and Mrs. Wooster with their family moved to Eagle Grove in 1916 having come from Germany some years previous. She is survived by seven children, Mrs. Frank Tanner, Sr., Ben and Frederick Wooster of Eagle Grove; Mrs. I. H. Baker of Webster City; Mrs. Robert Christopher of Phoenix and Carl Wooster of Ft. Dodge. Also surviving are 17 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband and three children.
