March 28, 1880 --- April 23, 1954

Martin Wooster, born March 28, 1880 to Frederik and Margaret Wooster at Schilling, Germany, died at his Eagle Grove home Friday, April 23, 1954. He married Katherine Groff in Germany in 1902. They came to this country in 1905 and Mr. Wooster was employed by the Rock Island Railroad at Herrington, Kansas. In 1917 Mr. Wooster and family moved to Eagle Grove where he worked for the Northwestern Railroad until 1936. Since then he has lived in retirement because of poor health.

Besides his wife, seven of ten children survive him: Katherine, Mrs. Frank Tanner, Eagle Grove; Mary, Mrs. I. H. Baker of Webster City; Emma Wooster of Eagle Grove; Carl of Ft. Dodge; Ben of Eagle Grove, Fred of Eagle Grove, and Arlene, Mrs. Robert Christopher of Eagle Grove. He is also survived by one sister, Mrs. Alex Schwain of Winnipeg, Canada; by 13 grandchildren and by 10 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers and three children, Amelia, Henry and Martin.

Funeral services were conducted at Eagle Grove Evangelical Lutheran church, where he had his membership since 1917, Monday, April 26 at 2:00 pm. Interment was in the family plot at Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove.
