Katherine Elizabeth Wooster was born May 3, 1903, the daughter of Martin and Katherine Groffe Wooster at Harrington, Kan. She received her education in Kansas before moving to Eagle Grove in 1915. She was united in marriage to Frank Emory Tanner of Eagle Grove on June 20, 1923, at Fort Dodge. The couple made their home in Eagle Grove where he was employed by the Chicago and Northwestern Railroad for many years. He died in 1981. She was a member of the Eagle Grove Evangelical Lutheran Church and the Lois Circle, the Brotherhood of Locomotive Fireman Auxiliary, and the Garden Club.

Katherine Elizabeth Tanner died at the Rotary Ann Nursing Home, Eagle Grove, November 19, 1992, at the age of 89 years, six months, and 16 days. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a daughter, Dorothy Winter, three brothers, Martin, Henry and Fredrick; and three sisters, Mary Baker, Amelia Wooster and Emma Wooster. She is survived by three sons, Frank of Eagle Grove; James of Northwood; and Fred of Hartley; two daughters, Mrs. Don (Margaret) Martin of Goldfield, and Marna Juvenal of Des Moines; two brothers, Ben of Eagle Grove, and Carl, of Fort Dodge; a sister, Mrs. Robert (Arlene) Christopher of Cornville, Ariz.; a sister-in-law, Ruth Wooster of Eagle Grove; 21 grandchildren; and 19 great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Monday, November 23, at the Evangelical Lutheran Church, Eagle Grove. The Revs. Lyle Peters and Maynard Moen officiated at the 11 a.m. services. Burial was in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove. Kastler-Babcock Services, Eagle Grove, was in charge of arrangements.
