June 5, 1866 --- May 1, 1960

William Arthur Thomason, son of Osmond and Julia Thomason, was born in Leland, Ill., on June 5, 1866. He was married to Jennie D. Herron on Dec. 18, 1890 at Lebanon, Mo. Mr. Thomason had moved to Eagle Grove in 1889 and farmed one year before his marriage. He and his wife settled on a farm 1 1/2 miles east of Eagle Grove where they lived for six years. They then purchased a farm in the Head Grove community where they lived until his death on May 1st, 1960. He leaves his wife and six children to mourn his passing. The sons and daughters are Esther (Mrs. Ed Pool) Eagle Grove; Ruth (Mrs. Frank Newcomb), Eagle Grove; Willard and Wayne Thomason of Eagle Grove and Hazel N. Thompson of Belmond, Iowa and Leonard Thomason of Des Moines. Also surviving are 15 grand-children; 35 great-grand children. Three brothers, two sisters and his parents preceded him in death.
