Twin Lakes – Ralph E. Voith, 77, passed away Thursday, October 30, 2014 at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home, Fort Dodge. Funeral Services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 2, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Rockwell City, with Pastor James Hoover Mossman officiating. Burial will be at Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Saturday at the Palmer & Swank Funeral Home, Rockwell City. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Twin Lakes Golf Club, or South Central Calhoun Schools.
Ralph is survived by his wife Mary; daughter Stacey (Brian) Bartels of Jewell; sons, Shane (Cathy) Voith, and Wade Voith, all of Rockwell City; grandchildren, Malory Klocke, Trenton Klocke, Madison Klocke, Hunter Voith, and Brodie Voith; sister, Kay (James) Kifer, of Oil City, PA; and sister-in-law Judy Voith of Apple Valley, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Freda (Irwin) Voith; his Uncle and Aunt, Ned and Olive Alexander, who raised Ralph since he was 14 years of age; sisters, Lorraine (Phil) Amsdell and Barbara (Dick) Pullease; and brother Robert Voith.
Ralph Emerson Voith was born March 19, 1937 at Oil City, Pennsylvania. Ralph lived in Reno, PA until the age of 14 years, when he moved to Montezuma, IA, where he lived with his Aunt and Uncle. Ralph graduated from Montezuma High School, with the Class of 1954. He furthered his education and graduated with a Bachelor's Degree from Iowa State Teachers College (University of Northern Iowa) and received his Master's Degree from Colorado State College in Greeley. On June 2, 1962, he was united in marriage to Mary Margaret Pinneo in Rising City, Nebraska. Ralph taught school for 2 years at Colo, and 3 years at Goldfield, before moving to Rockwell City. He then taught school in Rockwell City for 30 years until his retirement in 1994. During his early retirement years, Ralph taught part time at Iowa Central Community College. Ralph enjoyed fishing, golfing, and playing cards. He was an active member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Twin Lakes Golf Club where he helped maintain the course for many years, served 5 years on the Rockwell City City Council, and was a member of the Rockwell City Fire Dept. for 20 years.
