Garland F. "Kip" Fisher, 90, of Muscatine, died on Saturday, Nov. 1, 2014 at Premier Estates of Muscatine. The Rev. Dr. Pamela Saturnia will officiate. Memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church or the donor's choice of charity. Celebration of Life: 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 7, First Presbyterian Church Visitation: 4-7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 6, Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home

"Kip" was born on May 4, 1924, in Eagle Grove the son of Carl and Martha Johnson Fisher. He married Elizabeth "Miki" Throckmorton on March 31, 1946, in Eagle Grove. She preceded him in death on January 23, 2011.

He graduated in 1946 from Iowa State University with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He was hired as a consulting engineer at Stanley Engineering, and retired from Stanley Consultants as a Vice-President and Project Manager in 1984. He was a registered engineer in nine states. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church where he served as an Elder and Deacon. He was also a member of Rotary International and was a Paul Harris Fellow. He served on the SCORE Board and the State of Iowa Engineering Board. He was a member of the 33 Club and the Ramrod Coffee Club. He was an avid bridge player and golfer.

Those left to honor his memory include his children, Scott R. Fisher and wife, Patricia Cone-Fisher, of Iowa City, and Jan A. Cook and husband, John, of Cherokee; four grandchildren, Matthew and Michael Fisher and Erin Webster and husband, Nick, and Jason Cook and wife, Miranda; two great-grandchildren, Shay Elizabeth and Colin John Webster; and one brother, Roy Fisher of Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and two brothers.
