January 8, 1821 --- June 19, 1897

Saturday, June 19, Mrs. Matilda Clow, aged 76 years. The funeral was held at the home of her daughter, Mrs. C. E. Mills, and interment took place at the Luni cemetery [Renwick, Iowa]. The discourse was by Rev. F. E. Hudson and was thoroughly befitting the occasion. The departed was the mother of seven children, six of whom, three daughters and three sons are still living. Her maiden name was Simpson and she was married to J. C. Clow March 12, 1839. Mr. Clow died in September 1884. The sympathy of the community is extended to the sorrowing friends. No one can take the place of mother. No voice, no smile so sweet; no hands so willing, no arms so loving to soothe and no memory more precious.
