A Carpenter's Farewell
By Rev. Paul W. NealMy Lord was a carpenter in Galilee;
His saw and hammer sing to me.
They sing of legends ages old.
Of wise men and prophets hold.
Of martyrs, saints, and common folk;
Who daily carry his gentle yoke,
Not stone, not brick, not made of tree,
A mansion filled with rooms and bed,
Where loved ones go, they are so not dead.
My friend a carpenter too shall be,
To work with him from Galilee.The Renwick Times - Renwick, Iowa
