Karen Nelson, 36, of 3510 68th St., Urbandale, died January 18, 1984 at the Iowa Lutheran Hospital following a short illness and stroke. She was born in Webster City, Iowa and lived in Des Moines for 14 years. She was a member of the Central Lutheran Church and was employed as a cardiac technician at Lutheran Hospital. She is preceded in death by her parents, Marvin and Vera Nelson, Eagle Grove. Survivors include two sisters: Corinne Nelson, Des Moines, and Nancy Knowles, Decorah; two brothers: Bruce Nelson, Cedar Falls, and Brian Nelson, Thor. Services were held Friday at Hamilton's Funeral Service of Des Moines with burial at Northlawn Cemetery, Fort Dodge.
