Norman A. Riley, the son of Donald and Dorotha Thompson Riley, was born on June 20, 1948 at Creston, Iowa. He moved with his parents to Eagle Grove and graduated from the Eagle. Grove High School in the class oŁ 1966. He served in the U.S. Army during the VietNam Crisis. He was married to Kay Middleton on Dec. 28, 1969 at the United Methodist Church in Eagle Grove by Rev. Donald Forbes. The couple lived in the state of Georgia, while Norman was in the service. After he received his release from the Army they lived at Cedar Falls, Iowa, where he attended college. Later, they moved to Salt Lake City, Utah, where he was in the roofing business and then moved to Provo, Utah. For the past three years, they have lived at Everett, Wash, where he was a roofing contractor. He died at his home in Everett, Wash., on Sunday, April 10, 1983 after suffering a heart attack, at the age of 34 years, 9 months and 20 days.
He is survived by his wife, Kay of Everett, Wash.; his children, Kristin, Rhonda and Jeffrey Riley, all at home; his mother and step-father, Dorotha and Glenn Memmer of Seattle, Wash.; three sisters, Cheryl, Mrs. Darrel Toth of Milwaukee, Wise; Linda, Mrs. Hadley Allhands of Seattle, Wash, and Denise Riley of Seattle, Wash.; a brother, Marion Lynn Riley of Goldfield; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Elwood Middleton of rural Eagle Grove and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father and an infant daughter, JoAnn Marie.
Funeral services for Norman A. Riley, 34, of Everett, Wash., and formerly of Eagle Grove, were held on Saturday, April 16, 1983 at 1:30 p.m. at
the United Methodist Church in Eagle Grove. Rev. Don Callen, church pastor officiated and burial was in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove. Visitation was held at the Kastler-Babcock Funeral Home on Thursday.April 20, 1983
