Henry O. Thompson Funeral Services Held Wednesday

Henry O. Thompson, 79, 421 N. Commercial Ave., died Saturday night at Lutheran hospital, Fort Dodge, where he had been a patient for a short time. He was a former employee of the Eagle Grove Greenhouse, but had retired some time ago. He is survived by his wife, and one stepson Elmer Benson of Colorado Springs, Colorado. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 at the Samuel Lutheran church in charge of Rev. Jordan Jacobsen. Burial was in Rose Hill cemetery.

OBITUARY

Henry O. Thompson was born December 1, 1883 to Ole and Guri Benson Thompson. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Faith. He was married to Mae Buhner March 30, 1921 who preceded him in death October 16, 1934. One son Ralph died at the age of 13 months in May 1924. In 1938 he married Lena Benson. He was a life long resident of Eagle Grove and worked at the Eagle Grove Greenhouse for some 38 years. He was preceded in death by his three brothers: Emil, Thomas, and Adolph and one sister, Gurina. Henry is survived by his wife, Lena, a stepson, Elmer Benson and three grand children of Colorado Springs, Colorado. Also by a sister-in-law Mrs. Adolph Thompson of St. Paul, Minnesota. Two nephews Delmar Thompson of Chicago and Fay Thompson of Tokyo, Japan. Funeral services were held Wednesday, October 9 at 2:00 pm in the Samuel Lutheran church, Pastor Jordan T. Jacobsen officiating. Burial was held in the Rose Hill Cemetery of Eagle Grove.
