James Gilbert Shaw was born April 9, 1934, in Eagle Grove, the son of Robin Adair and Mary Bernadine (Taylor) Shaw. He was raised and educated in the area of his birth, graduating from Eagle Grove High School in 1953, then served in the United States Marine Corp from 1955 -1958. Survivors include his children: Marty Shaw and wife Angela of Scarville, Raymond Shaw of Lincoln, NE, Steve Shaw and wife Trina of Chester, VA; daughter Nicole (Christopher) Wilson, 11 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren.
