Patricia G. Bangs, 80, of Fort Dodge, died Monday, May 19, 2014, at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home. A service honoring Patricia's life will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 22, at the Gunderson Funeral Chapel. The family will greet friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Gunderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services.

Patricia is survived by her children, William H. Gill Jr., Illinois; Joseph Gill, Indiana; Gwen Hayes, Illinois; and Mary Chieco, Illinois; grandsons, Kevin Gill and William Gill; her brother Jim (Reba) Irwin, Texas; and sister-in-law Jean Irwin, Iowa City. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Tom.

Patricia Gwen Irwin, the daughter of Thomas and Gwendolyn (Crain) Irwin, was born September 9, 1933, in Goldfield. She graduated from Eldora High School and attended the University of Iowa where she studied music. She was married to William Gill and then was married to Thomas Scott Bangs until he passed away. Patricia taught private voice and piano lessons and once operated an antique shop. Patricia was an avid reader, had a life time love of music and enjoyed a good, spirited theological discussion.
