Rosalie Hunt passed away Thursday, May 15, 2014 at the Good Samaritan Center in Indianola. Rosalie was born on August 21, 1935 on a farm right outside of Clarion, Iowa to Jacob TerHark and Grace Carolus. Rosalie grew up and graduated from Clarion High School in 1953. She went on to nursing school in Marshalltown and held many nursing positions in her career and retired as Director of Nursing at the Good Samaritan Center in Indianola. Rosalie met and married Paul Hunt on August 10, 1957 and raised their 4 daughters together. Rosalie enjoyed fishing, crafting, cooking, taking care of the birds in her yard and spending time with her grandchildren. Rosalie is survived by her husband Paul of Hartford, 4 daughters; Julie(Dennis)Sheely of Carlisle, Jill Hunt of Altoona, Jennifer Eckert of Carlisle and Jami(Duane)Bockenstedt of Urbandale, sisters; Anna Mae Mason of Amboy, MN. And Janet Engbretson of Jesup, brother Larry TerHark of Clarion and 6 grandchildren; Ashley, Bailey, Logan, Casey, Erin and Callie. Rosalie was preceded in death by her parents, brother Gene TerHark and sister Dorothy Thompson. Visitation for Rosalie will be from 4-7 pm. Thursday, May 22, 2014 at Peterson Funeral Home in Carlisle. A memorial service will begin at 7 pm after the visitation. A private burial of ashes will be held in Riverview Cemetery in Marshalltown at a later date. Memorial gifts may be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association.
