FOREST CITY --- A Forest City man involved in an accident last week has died. The Iowa State Patrol says 52-year-old Timothy Gross died on Friday at Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa in Mason City as a result of his injuries. Gross was involved in an accident last Tuesday while traveling westbound on County Road B-16 approaching County Road R-44 when he swerved to avoid contact with another vehicle that failed to yield the right-of-way at a stop sign on R-44. Gross lost control of his vehicle, which left the roadway and overturned in a drainage ditch, coming to rest on its top, partially submerging the car. Kim Chada of Forest City was the driver of the other vehicle. The Iowa State Patrol says Chada was charged with failing to yield for a stop sign. The accident remains under investigation but the State Patrol says they’re not anticipating any additional charges.
