Obituary of Mrs. Oscar Toffee
Crystal Mildred Toftee was born in Grand Ridge, Illinois, on the 10th day of July, 1900 to Steven and Laura Brooks. She passed away in the Clarion Hospital on the 27th day of October, after a lengthy illness. At the age of eight years Mrs. Toftee moved to Iowa with her parents and family, settling on a farm in Dayton Township in Wright County. On January 29, 1927, she was united in marriage to Oscar A. Toftee. To this union was born four children; Gerald Wayne of Webster City, Doris Marie (Mrs. Royce Frakes) of Eagle Grove, James Arthur of Hannibal, Missouri, and Leo Willard of Eagle Grove, all of whom survive her. Mrs. Toftee was preceded in death by her parents, and two sisters. Surviving besides her husband, Oscar, and her children, are twelve grandchildren and three sisters, May (Mrs. Albert Borel), Kate (Mrs. Norvel Carter) and Sylvia (Mrs. Francis Hines) all of Clarion. Also surviving is an aunt (Mrs. Margaret Spore) of Georgia, and a number of nieces and nephews. Mourning her passing also is a host of other relatives and friends.
