February 1, 1935 --- December 6, 2013

Alice A. Lacina, 78, of Fort Dodge, passed away Friday, December 6, 2013, at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home. Funeral services will be held Wednesday December 11, 2013 at 1:00 PM at St. Olaf Lutheran Church with Rev. David Grindberg officiating. Burial will follow at the Colfax Township Cemetery near Vincent. The Visitation will be Tuesday, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM.

Alice is survived by her husband, Edward; son Kirk (Connie) Lacina of Humboldt; daughter, Rita (Scott) Gallimore of Hot Springs, AR; grandchildren, Cassie Lacina and her husband Jason Hardman of Des Moines; Kendra Lacina of Iowa City; Bethany, Samuel, Rachael, and Jordan Gallimore all of Hot Springs, AR; sisters Helen Gloe of Fort Dodge; and Violet Dencklau of Vincent. Alice is preceded in death by her parents Oscar and Alma (Dencklau) Westling; and a sister, Lydia Simonson.

Alice Alfreda Lacina was born February 1, 1935 in Fort Dodge. She attended schools here and graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High. She went on to graduate from Iowa Central Community College. On August 6, 1955 she was united in marriage to Edward Lacina. The couple established their home on a farm north of Fort Dodge. Alice went to work for lawyer, John Mitchel. She later owned and operated Alice's Tax Services from 1981 until she retired in 2005. Alice enjoyed puzzles and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandkids. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
