Funeral services for Lyden K. Knight, 62, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Foster Funeral Home with the Rev. David L. Abrams officiating and with burial in Graceland cemetery [Webster City, Iowa]. Mr. Knight died Wednesday night at Trinity Regional hospital in Fort Dodge where he had been a patient for two days. He had been in ill health for 12 years.

Lyden K. Knight, son of Frederick and Mabel Vest Knight, was born April 1, 1920 in Lake township, Wright county, Iowa. He was reared and educated in that community and graduated from Clarion High School. On Jan. 4, 1947, he was married to Nina Bailey Pfaffenbach, at Des Moines. The couple farmed in the Clarion, Webster City, Thor and Dows areas. In 1968, the family moved to Webster City where he was employed by Modern Farm Systems and later by Webster City Products. He retired in 1972, due to ill health. In 1977 the couple moved to Fort Dodge. He is survived by his wife; one son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Connie Pfaffenbach of Fort Dodge; two sisters, Mrs. Avis Huffman of Des Moines and Mrs. Richard (Ilene) Campbell of New Hampton, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one son, Paul Knight in May, 1978; both parents; and one brother, Orlin Knight in May, 1982. He was a member of the Asbury United Methodist Church, the UAW No. 442 of Webster City and the VFW, Walter Porsch Post 1856.
