Avis L Huffman, 83, of 4105 N. E. 43rd Court died of a heart ailment Monday at Integrated Health Services of Iowa. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Hamilton's Funeral Home with burial at Glendale Cemetery. Mrs. Huffman was born in Clarion and had lived in Des Moines most of her life. She was a retired bookkeeper and a member of Sheridan Park United Methodist Church and American Business Women's Association. She is survived by a daughter, Patricia Cole of Des Moines; two sons, Richard of Altoona and Robert of Des Moines; a sister, Ilene Campbell of New Hampton; 10 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. Friends may call after 4 p.m. today at the funeral home, where the family will be present from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to her church.
