LAST RITES HELD WEDNESDAY FOR AGED ALEXANDER WOMAN

Mrs. Elizabeth Westaby Passed Away June 11 at Son's Home

Alexander, Iowa, June 21 -- Funeral services for Mrs. Elizabeth Westaby, aged seventy-six, were held last Wednesday afternoon at the Alexander Community Methodist Church, Rev. E. A. Cochell, pastor, was in charge of the final rites. Mrs. Westaby passed away last Sunday afternoon at the home of her son W. C. Westaby, in Alexander, following an illness of about three and one-half months.

Mrs. James Westaby, nee Elizabeth Gundrey, was born April 4, 1874, in Scales Mound, Illinois, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Gundrey. On February 10, 1892, she was married to James R. Westaby in Rush Township, Jo Davis, Illinois. They made their home in Jo Davis county until 1902 when they moved to Alexander and where she had since made her home. Mr. Westaby preceded his wife in death.

She is survived by the following children: Jesse Westaby and W. C. Westaby of Alexander, Mrs. Huldah Jakobs of Iowa Falls, and Mrs. Mary Jones of Hampton. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. A. B. Meyer of Warren, Illinois. Mrs. Westaby was a member of the Methodist church in Alexander and the Ladies Aid Society.
