ALEXANDER - William Charles Westaby, 88, of Alexander, died Thursday (December 5, 1985) at a Mason City hospital. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Alexander United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Clyde Sparks officiating. Burial will be in the Alexander Cemetery. Visitation will be after 1 p.m. today at the Sietsma-Vogel Funeral Home, Hampton.

He was born in Warren, Illinois, on June 12, 1897 to Mr. and Mrs. James Westaby. He is survived by his wife, Ione, two daughters, Mrs. Merlin (Norma) Braun of Latimer, and Mrs. Keith (Iva June) Myers of Alexander; one stepdaughter, Shirley Klemme of Collins; one son, Marlow, of Alexander; five stepsons, Herbert, Delbert, Neil, and Daryne Muhlenbruck, all of Dows, and Gilbert Muhlenbruck of Wappington Falls, N.Y.; two sisters, Huldah Jakobs of Iowa Falls and Mary Jones of Hampton; 13 grandchildren; 19 step-grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and three step great-grandchildren.
