Franklin County Man Dies At Webster City

Last Rites For J. R. Westaby Held Wednesday

Funeral services for James R. Westaby, who passed away at a hospital in Webster City, Monday, May 7th, were held Wednesday afternoon at the Methodist church in Hampton, with Rev. W. C. Cleworth in charge of the final rites. Burial was made in the Hampton cemetery.

James R. Westaby, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Westaby, was born near Woldbine, in Jo Davis county, Illinois, May 3, 1869. He grew to manhood in and near his birthplace and on February 10, 1894 was married to Miss Elizabeth M. Gundrey. They located on a farm in Illinois and made their home there until 1902, when they moved to a farm near Alexander. Five children were born to them, one of whom died in infancy. Surviving Mr. Westaby are Mrs. Westaby, two sons, Jesse L. Westaby and William C. Westaby, of Alexander, two daughters, Mrs. Huldah T. Jacobs, of Iowa Falls and Mrs. Mary Jones, of Webster City. One sister, Mrs. Lottie Hess, of Minneapolis, also survives.
