Ite Arends, Pioneer of Alexander, Buried
ALEXANDER, IA - April 6, — Funeral services were held at the home of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran church for Ite Arends, pioneer resident, with the Rev. C J. Barth of Latimer and Rev. Grosshuesch of Klemme in charge.
Born in German Valley, Ill., in 1848, he moved with his family near Ackley in 1870. In 1890 he moved near Alexander, later coming to town. Surviving are his wife and children, Ben of Williams, John of Alexander, the Rev. Edwin of Freeport, Ill., Mrs. Carl Bohlen of Clear Lake, the Rev. Sherman of Grand Rapids, Minn., Grover of Clear Lake and Mrs. Oscar Hensel of Alexander.
