RITES HELD FOR KARL P. BOHLEN
Lake Man Buried in Alexander Cemetery

Clear Lake, IA — Funeral services for Karl P. Bohlen, 55, who died at his home, 212 Orchard avenue, Friday evening following a long illness, were held at Ward's funeral home Monday afternoon. The Rev. Ruben Mostrom, pastor of the Zion Lutheran church, conducted the rites. Burial was in the cemetery at Alexander. Pallbearers were Fred Linahon, George Lunn, Ralph Schneider, Henry Bruns, Roy Hoft, and A. C. Sater. Mmes. Lunn and Schneider arranged the flowers. Mmes. Carl Ashland and Lester Burgeson, accompanied at the piano by Mrs. H. L. Erickson, sung "Ivory Palaces" and "When the Night Shades Are Falling." Several gifts for missions were received.

Friends and relatives from out of town present included Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Hensel, Donald Hensel, Mr. and Mrs. Carroll Hensel, Mr. and Mrs. Aldrich Beenen, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Bohlen, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Scott, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Larsen, Mr. and Mrs. John Lebrich, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Bell, Mr. and Mr. Henry Johnson, and Marilyn, and Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Arends, all of Alexander. Mr. and Mrs. Ben Arends, Bernard Arends, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Carstens, and Mr. and Mrs. Grover Arends, all of Williams, Hei Panninng and Mrs. Ed Bedgasser, Ackley; Mmes. Earl Allen and Beulah Seunuy, Iowa Falls; Mrs. Hattie Kruger, George; Capt. Sherman Arends, U. S. Army chaplain, California; the Rev. B. R. Arends, D. D, Freeport, Ill.; Ed Butler, Hampton, and Mr. and Mrs. William Hathern, Mason City.

Hannah circle of the Zion Lutheran aid, of which Mrs. Bohlen is a member, provided meals for the family and guests, serving both at noon and in the evening. Mmes. G. E. Waltin, Ted Gerdes, Ellen Nielsen and Roy Holt took charge. Mr. and Mrs. Burton Bohlen returned Monday evening to their home in Spencer and Mr. and Mrs. Samuel K. Jennings plan to return to Camp Polk, La. Thursday.
