September 28, 1859 --- June 4, 1928

Quite a number from here attended the funeral in Hardy last Wednesday of the late W. H. Notestine. Services were held from the M. E. church by pastor, Rev. F. L. Kruwell, and the remains were laid to rest in the Vernon cemetery. Wm. H. Notestine was born in Gettysburg, Ohio, Sept. 28, 1858 and passed away at his home near Hardy on Monday, June 4, 1928 at the age of 69 years, 8 months and 6 days. on June 29, 1885 he was united in marriage to Miss Hannah James. Five children were born to this union, two having preceded the father in death. Besides the sorrowing wife, three sons are left to mourn his departure.

William H. Notestine was born in Gettysburg, Ohio, September 28, 1858. He passed away at his home in Hardy, Iowa, Monday morning, June 4, 1928, at the age of 69 years, 8 months and 6 days. He was united in marriage to Miss Hannah James, June 29, 1885. To this union five children were born, two preceding the father in death. Practically his whole life was spent in this vicinity. He leaves to mourn his departure His widow; three sons, Archie and Harry who are farming northwest of Renwick, and Harley of Eagle Grove; his brother Joseph of Austin, Minn., and a host of friends. The funeral was held at the home in Hardy at two o'clock last Wednesday, the sermon being given by Rev. F. L. Kruwell. Burial was made at Vernon cemetery.
