Mrs. Ernest (Cleo) Cramer, 85, longtime Webster City resident, died late Tuesday evening at Mary Greeley hospital in Ames where she had been a patient the past 10 days. She had been in ill health the past several years. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the First Congregational (UCC) church with the Rev. Alva Hohl officiating and with burial in Graceland Cemetery. Friends may call at the Foster Funeral home until 10 a.m. when the casket will be taken to the church.
Jennie Cleo Chapman, daughter of Charles and Nancy Elizabeth Mayberry Chapman, was born Aug. 15, 1894, at Jackson county, Iowa, where she attended elementary school. The family moved to the Blairsburg area on March 1, 1908. She attended high school there and was graduated from Blairsburg high school in 1912. She was married Jan. 21, 1915 to Ernest Cramer, and the couple farmed in Wright county for six years, then moved to a farm near Blairsburg where they farmed until April, 1950. They retired and moved to Webster City, making their home at 1115 Funk St. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dec. 16, 1953, but she continued to reside in Webster City.
She is survived by two sons, Charles Cramer and Earl Cramer, both of Blairsburg; three grandchildren, Williams Cramer, Blairsburg, Mrs. Kent (Lois) Larson of Ankeny and Nancy Cramer, Blairsburg; two great-grandchildren, Angela Sue and Jayson William Cramer both of Blairsburg, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers. She was a member of the First Congregational UCC church in Webster City.
