CATHERINE CRAWFORD, 81, died Monday, May 2, 1988 at the Good Samaritan Care Center in Manson. Services will be held Thursday, May 5 at 1:30 p.m. at the Foster Funeral Home with Rev. Vernon Sorensen officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery.

Catherine Agnes Frakes, daughter of Jesse and Idella Koch Frakes, was born Sept. 6, 1906 on a farm east of Woolstock. She was educated in rural schools in Wright and Hamilton counties. She married Franklin W. Crawford on Feb 14, 1923 at Webster City. They resided at Webster City and later in Cedar Rapids where Mr. Crawford worked at Quaker Oats for 15 years. Later they farmed in the Cedar Rapids, Webster City and Boone area, later returning to Webster City. Her husband died in January of 1987. She entered the care center one year ago.

Survivors are a son Franklin E. of Boone and John J. of Bemidji, Minn., and a daughter, Frances (Mrs. Charles) Teyen of Rockwell City; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two sisters Hazel Claude of Webster City and Mildred Gabrielson of Stratford. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, a son in infancy, two brothers and one sister. She was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church.
