Funeral services for Franklin Wickwire Crawford, 82, of Webster City will be held Wed., Feb 4 at 1:30 p.m. at Foster Funeral Home with Rev. Vernon Sorensen officiating. Burial will be in Graceland cemetery. He died Saturday, Jan 31 at Crestview Manor Care Center in Webster City.
Franklin Wickwire Crawford, son of John and Tibithy Gertrude Wickwire Crawford, was born Dec. 4, 1904, at Ellsworth. He was educated at Webster City. He married Catherine Frakes on Feb 14, 1923 at Webster City. He was employed as a civil engineer at Webster City. The couple later moved to Cedar Rapids where he was a foreman for the Quaker Oats Company for 15 years. He also farmed in Cedar Rapids and later returned to Webster City to farm. Also farmed in the Boone area. He was employed as a chef at the Webster City Country club for several years before retiring.
Survivors are his wife; two sons and one daughter, Franklin E. of Boone, Frances (Mrs. Charles) Teyen of Rockwell City, and John J. of Bemidji, Minn.; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchidren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son in infancy and two sisters. Mr. Crawford was a member of the Asbury United Methodist Church.
