MRS. FORREST (HAZEL) CLAUDE, 67, a longtime Woolstock and Webster City area resident, died this morning at Crestview Manor where she had resided the past 10 months. She had been in ill health the past two years. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the Foster Funeral home with the Rev. David LaMaster officiating and with burial in Graceland cemetery.
Hazel Marie Beadle, daughter of William and Ellen Benson Beadle, was born Aug. 22, 1916 at Fort Dodge. She was reared and educated in the Swea City area. She was married Jan. 1934 to James Crosby, and to this union, six children were born, Mrs. Donald (Doris) Bauman of Woolstock, Mrs. Darwin Darvin (Delores) Hill, Stratford and Robert Crosby of Webster City, and three who died in infancy, Leonard Leroy Crosby, Donald DeWayne Crosby, and Cheruly Ann Crosby. The couple resided in Fort Dodge until 1946 when they moved to Woolstock. She married Aug. 22, 1966 to Forrest Claude at Fairmont, Minn. and the couple had since resided in Webster City. In addition to the three children mentioned earlier, she is survived by her husband; by a stepson, Paul Claude of Clinton; a step-daughter, Mrs. Bill (Terry) Widick, Stratford; seven grandchildren, eight step-great-grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, two brothers, and three sisters, Hollis Beadle, Swea City, Robert Beadle, Fort Dodge, Mrs, Leonard (Velma) Lund and Mrs. Ruby (Tillie) Hack, both of Swea City, and Mrs. Melvin (Betty) Engelbarts, rural Bancroft. In addition to her children, she was preceded in death by her parents and one sister.
