November 6, 1906 --- July 15, 1960

Ralph M. Rasmussen was born on November 6, 1906 on a farm near Goldfield in Wright County, the son of Chris and Rosa Helmer Rasmussen. He died on Tuesday July 15, 1960, while at work on the Don Baker farm near Goldfield. He attained the age of 73 years, 8 months and 9 days. He grew up near Goldfield and attended the rural schools. He farmed in the Wright County-Goldfield area. He served in the U.S. Army during World War 2 and served in the European-African War zones. On June 2, 1956, he was united in marriage with Sarah B. Horstman Eittreim at Clarion. Ralph was a member of the Park Church of Christ in Goldfield and the Goldfield American Legion Post.

He is survived by his wife, Sarah of Goldfield; his step-children, Calvin Eittreim of Waterloo, Mrs. Maxine Bailey of Eagle Grove, Maynard Eittreim of Eagle Grove, Edna, Mrs. Tom Arne, of Eagle Grove, Mrs. Verna Crane of Waterloo, 16 step-grandchildren, nine step-great-grandchildren; two sisters; Mrs Clarence (Lola) Odland of Dows and Mrs. Mary Ebben of Morris, Minn. He was preceded in death by his parents and thee brothers, Oliver, Paul and Roy.

Funeral services for Ralph M. Rasmussen were held on Friday afternoon, July 18, 1980 at 2 p.m. at the Park Church of Christ in Goldfield. Rev. Kim Nelson, church pastor, officiated. The military honors were conducted at the gravesite in the Glenwood Cemetery, Goldfield, by the officers and members of the Goldfield American Legion Post. Visitation was held at the Kastler Babcock Funeral Home in Eagle Grove.
