July 11, 1924 --- July 15, 1980

Funeral services for Leo K. Rasmussen were held from the Church of Christ on Friday morning, July 18, 1980, at ten o'clock. Rev. George Keebler officiated and burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery. The Eyler-William Funeral Home conducted the service. Mrs. A. M. Andrews was the organist, Mrs. Daryl Marshall the pianist and Mrs. Clair McOllough the vocalist. Bearers were: Lawrence White, Daryl Marshall, Harold Mack, Leo Woodley, Marvin Clopton and A. M. Andrews.

Leo died of injuries suffered in an accident while at work for the City of Clarion on Tuesday afternoon, July 15, 1980. Born at Kanawha on July 11, 1924 he was the son of Roy W. and Mable Odland Rasmussen and grew to manhood in the Clarion-Eagle Grove area. He served with the Army in World War 2 and after the service farmed near Clarion. On October 29, 1950 he was married to Vicy M. Wooten at the Church of Christ in Clarion. In 1959 they moved from the farm to town and he had worked for the City of Clarion since 1971. His wife and four children survive: Willie of Clarion, Cleo of Des Moines and Ricky and Teressa both of Clarion. There are also two sisters: Mrs. Robert (Rose) Umstead and Mrs. Raymond (Marjorie) Sampson both of Eagle Grove. His parents preceded him in death. Leo was a deacon of the Church of Christ and a member of the V.F.W. He was a past member of the IOOF lodge in Clarion.
