SERVICES FOR MABLE RASMUSSEN

Funeral services for Mrs. Mable H. Rasmussen, 75, of Eagle Grove, were held on Saturday, September 2, 1978 at 10:00 a.m. from the United Methodist Church in Eagle Grove. Rev. Don Callen officiated at the service and burial was in Evergreen Cemetery at Clarion. The Eyler-William Funeral Home of Clarion was in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Rasmussen died on Thursday at Trinity Regional Hospital in Ft. Dodge, where she had been a patient since suffering a stroke several days ago. The organist for the funeral was Miss Roi Ann Gerhart and the vocal selections were by Mrs. Clifford Simkins. Casket bearers were Arnold Odland, William Wurch, Kenneth Odland, Richard Johnson, Dennis Underwood and Lyle Pippert.

Born at Clarion on December 3, 1902 she was the daughter of Henry and Christina Stave Odland and grew to womanhood in the area of her birth. On March 24, 1920 she was married to Roy W. Rasmussen at Clarion and they spent their married life farming. Mr. Rasmussen died in 1973 and she then moved to Eagle Grove.

Three children survive. They are: Mrs. Robert (Rose) Umstead and Mrs. Raymond (Marjorie) Sampson, both of Eagle Grove and Leo of Clarion. She is also survived by six grandchildren, six great grandchildren and seven brothers and sisters, Clarence Odland of Dows, Mrs. Helen Franklin of Eagle Grove, Mrs. Peter (Harriet) Kruse of Parkersburg, Mrs. Arlan (Luella) Pippert of Nora Springs, Howard Odland of Webster City, Mrs. Wendell (Irene) Sims of Tucson, Ariz. and Irvin Odland of Eagle Grove. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers. Mrs. Rasmussen was a member of the United Methodist Church and the W.S.C.S. in Eagle Grove.
