SERVICES HELD FOR ROY W. RASMUSSEN

Funeral services were held for Roy Wesley Rasmussen Saturday, November 3, 1973 at ll:00 a.m. at the United Methodist church with the Eyler Funeral Home of Clarion in charge of arrangements. Rev. Myron Brockmeyer officiated. Mrs. Paul Loomis was the organist, Roy Crawford was the soloist. Pallbearers were Raymond Delmerly, Myron Hill, Paul Mraz, George Boyington, Don Shillington and Jim White. Burial was in the Evergreen cemetery at Clarion.

Roy Rasmussen was killed last Wednesday, October 31, when he was attempting to raise an elevator which fell on him.

Roy Wesley Rasmussen was born July 19, 1898 at Goldfield, Iowa to Chris and Rosa Rasmussen. He died at his home October 31, 1973 after reaching the age of 75 years, 3 months and 12 days.
Roy attended school in Goldfield. He was united in marriage to Mable Odland on March 24, 1920 at Clarion, Iowa. They farmed in the Goldfield vicinity until 1941 when they moved to their present farm near Clarion. He was baptized in the Methodist church as an infant, and was a member of the Methodist Church of Clarion.

Those who mourn his death are his widow Mable, two daughters, Mrs. Robert (Rose) Umstead of Eagle Grove, Mrs. Raymond (Marjorie) Sampson of Eagle Grove and one son, Leo of Clarion. Also surviving are six grandchildren and four great grandchildren, two sisters and two brothers. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
