Death Claims Mrs. C. L. Rasmussen

News of the death of Mrs. C. L. Rasmussen, which reached here Monday, was a sad shock to the community. Mrs. Rasmussen had gone to Chicago the week previous for an operation for appendicitis. The physicians found her case a severe one and although the best of medical help and care were available, death claimed her in spite of all, the end coming Monday. The remains were brought to this place Tuesday.

Rosa Helmer was born at Grundy Center, Iowa, March 7, 1873. With her parents and their family she came to Goldfield, Iowa, in 1892 residing with them on the farm just west of town until October 20, 1897 at which time she was married to Chris L. Rasmussen. The family has since remained in the vicinity of Goldfield. After a short illness with appendicitis she died in the Frances Willard hospital, Chicago, Ill., Monday, February 10, 1913, being 30 years, ll months and 3 days old. Four boys and two girls were born to Mr. Mrs. Rasmussen and these children remain with the father to mourn the loss of a loving mother. The other immediate relatives of the deceased yet living are her father and mother and two sisters who live in Texas, three sisters and one brother living in and near Goldfield.

In her youth while living at Grundy Center she gave her heart to the Lord and joined the church. Upon coming to Goldfield she transferred her membership to the Methodist Episcopal church here and has since remained a consisted member thereof. Funeral services were held at the M. E. church Thursday afternoon at two o'clock, the pastor, Rev. C. B. Mitchell conducting the service. Many friends were present to pay their last respects to this good woman. Burial took place at Glenwood Cemetery.

The heartfelt sympathy of everyone in the community goes out to the bereaved husband, the motherless children, and other relatives in their sad affliction.

CARD OF THANKS
We wish to express to our friends and neighbors our heartfelt appreciation for the many acts of kindness since the death of our beloved wife and mother, and for the assistance rendered at the funeral.
C. L. Rasmussen and Family.
