October 10, 1896 --- October 13, 1951

Clarence Elmer Johnson, the son of Joseph and Anna Sophia Johnson, was born near Morris, Illinois, on October 10, 1895. When he was six years of age he moved with his parents to a farm near Klemme. On June 5, 1920, he was united in marriage to Bernice V. Gimer. To this union were born two children, Robert and Barbara, both residing in Renwick. Tweleve years were spent in farming; he then moved with his family to Renwick where he has been in the employ of the Renwick Creamery, until early summer, when failing health compelled him to give up his work.

When a small child he was baptized in the Lutheran Church. He was a member of the Methodist Church of Renwick. He found much pleasure in his home and among the little children. He was a great lover of the outdoors.

He passed away suddenly at his home in Renwick at the age of 55 years and 3 days. His mother and father and two sisters preceded him in death. He leaves to mourn, his wife, Bernice; two children, Robert and Barbara; three grandchildren, five sisters, Hulda of Los Angeles, Mildred and Irene of Mason City, Maybelle and Gertrude of Klemme; two brothers, George of Mason City and Arthur of Klemme; and many nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

Pallbearers were George Bell, Elston Ashpole, Fritz Britt, Elmer Phillip, Rudolph Blesie, Derrell Marteson. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon, October 17, at the Methodist Church in Renwick. Burial was at Vernon Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Beenen Funeral Service. A quartet composed of W. P. Wittmer, John Zimmerman, Sherill Oppedahl, and Robert Lane sang "Beyond the Summer" and "Good Night and Good Morning." Mr. Oppedahl also sang "The Lord's Prayer." Mrs. W. P. Wittmer was the organist.
