August 24, 1882 --- November 3, 1955

Emaline Fouts Gimer, the daughter of George W. and Mary E. Fouts, was born at Eldora, Iowa, August 24, 1882. Her family lived at Eldora a number of years then later in the vicinity of Abbott, Iowa, where her two brothers farmed. On Christmas Day, 1902, she married Arthur Dewitt Gimer. Mr. and Mrs. Gimer moved to Cleves, Iow, where they operated the Cleves Creamery for several years. They then moved to Abbott, Iowa, where Mr. Gimer operated a store and was postmaster for three years. They returned to Cleves and in 1913 moved to Klemme, Iowa, where Mr. Gimer started a new creamery there. Having spent more than 18 years in Klemme, Mr. and Mrs. Gimer came to Renwick in 1932 to open the Renwick Community Creamery. They have lived in Renwick ever since where they have operated the creamery.

Mr. and Mrs. Gimer united with the Evangelical Church in Abbott, Iowa, then later united with the Methodist Church in Klemme and Renwick. Mrs. Gimer has always been faithful in the work of the Church and attended the services of the Church regularly. In earlier years she taught Sunday School classes and gave to the children she taught, the inspiration and encouragement they needed in living the Christian life.

Mrs. Gimer is survived by her husband, Arthur Dewitt Gimer, five children, Bernice (Mrs. George Bell), Harl, Thomas, Thelma (Mrs. Stanley McCurry, all of Renwick, and Blanch (Mrs. Frank Gibbs) of Honolulu, Hawaii, and 12 grand children, and five great grand children, all who will cherish her memory.

Mrs. Gimer passed away in November, 3, 1955 at her home in Renwick, at the age of 73 years. Her parents passed away many years ago, as well as three brothers, one of whom was her twin who died in infancy, and one sister. Her brothers and sisters now surviving are Mamie of Boise, Ida., Bell of Alhambra, Calif., Fred of Sheridan, Ark., Elmer of South Milwaukee, and Hayes of Riceville. The memory of Mrs. Gimer's loving kindness and good deeds will always be remembered by everyone who knew her. Her heart and goodness went out to all.
