January 14, 1881 --- October 1, 1956

RENWICK, IA - Funeral services for A. D. Gimer, 75, were held Thursday afternoon at the Renwick Methodist church, Rev. Roy Belsmeyer officiating. Burial was at the Vernon cemetery. He died Monday, Oct. 1, at the Belmond hospital. Death was due to a heart ailment.

Surviving are three daughters and two sons: Mrs. George Bell, Harl Gimer, Tom Gimer and Mrs. Stanley McCurry, all of Renwick and Mrs. Frank Gibbs of Hawaii. Other survivors include 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, three brothers, and two sisters: Howard Gimer of Hampton, Ray Gimer of Wellsburg, Lou Gimer of Eldon, Mrs. Hays Fouts of Riceville, and Mrs. Cora Homan of Ackley. Mr. Gimer and his two sons have operated the Renwick creamery since 1932.

Music for the services was provided by Sherrill Oppedahl, Robert Oppedahl, W. P. Wittmer and Vance Davidson, with Mrs. Wittmer at the organ. Pallbearers were Ralph Block, Donald Clowes, George Mills, Dale Rap, Donald McGowan and Marion Huntley.

Mr. Gimer was born at Hubbard January 14, 1881. After his marriage in 1902, he operated a creamery at Cleves for several years, then a store at Abbott, for three years. They returned to Cleves, and in 1913 moved to Klemme where he managed a creamery for 18 years.
