Harl D. Gimer

Funeral services for a former Renwick mayor, Harl D. Gimer, 74, were held Tuesday, Aug. 17, at the Renwick United Methodist Church. Mr. Gimer died at his home in Renwick, Saturday evening. Officiating at the services was the Rev. Gerald Armstrong. Masonic services were Monday, Aug. 16, at the Garry-Roberts-Schaaf-Blake Funeral Home in Renwick.

Harl D. Gimer was born Jan. 6, 1908, in Cleves, the son of Arthur D. Gimer and Emaline Fouts Gimer. He married Regina Miller on June 16, 1933, at Renwick. He was a creamery operator in Renwick, working from 1933 to 1947 with his parents. From 1947 to 1974 he operated the creamery in partnership with his brother, Tom. Mr. Gimer retired in 1974.

Survivors include his wife, Regina of Renwick; one son, two grandsons, one brother, Thomas of Renwick; two sisters, Mrs. Frank (Blanche) Gibbs of Honolulu, Hawaii, and Mrs. Stanley (Velma) McCurry of Renwick. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.

Mr. Gimer was a member of Viona Lodge Number 538 A.F. & A.M. of Renwick. Besides serving as a mayor of Renwick, Mr. Gimer was a former member of the Renwick fire department and holds a membership with the United Methodist Church of Renwick.
