ELMER, STAUFFACHER, STAUFACKER

January 29, 1829 --- February 21, 1910

Dieterick Elmer, whose death occurred at Hebron, North Dakota, February 21st, 1910, was born in Matt, Kanton Glarus, Swiss, January 29th, 1829. In the year of 1864 he was united in holy wedlock to Miss Barbara Staufacker, and to this union were born nine children, five sons and four daughters - one son and one daughter having preceded the father to the better land.

The deceased came to America in 1867 and settled near Monroe, Wisconsin. At this place he was converted under Rev. Funger and united with the Evengelical church. In 1869 he came to Renwick and remained until the year 1886 when he moved to Hebron, N. D. For the past 11 years Mr. Elmer has been a constant sufferer of rheumatism, but bore his affliction with true christian spirit and when the summons came he was ready and willing to go.

The deceased leaves a wife, four sons, three daughters, twenty-one grandchildren and one brother to mourn his demise. The remains were brought to Renwick Friday and funeral services were held in the Evangelical church at 10:30 Sunday. Interment took place in the German cemetery north of town.
