September 2, 1935 --- September 3, 2010

Carlton E. Nassen, 75, of Fort Dodge, died Friday, September 3, 2010 at the Marian Home. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Bruce-Graham Funeral Home with the Monsignor Kevin McCoy officiating. Interment will follow in the Colfax Township Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 5 -7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Carlton Edward Nassen was born September 2, 1935 the son of Edward Samuel and Pearl L. (Seivert) Nassen in rural Radcliffe, Iowa. He attended Hardin County Pleasant No. 6 and later graduated from New Providence High School. He served his country in the United States Army from March of 1955 until his honorary discharge in March of 1957. In 1958 Carlton was united in marriage to Mary Ann Terveer and later divorced. In 1989 he was united in marriage to Roberta Dencklau. Carlton was employed at Ralston Purina and in 1960 took a job with Concrete Products Co. in Iowa Falls where he retired in 1997 as plant manager.

Carlton enjoyed traveling, golfing and working in his garden. He enjoyed spending time with his family especially his grandchildren. He was a member of the Moose Lodge #806 and a long time member of the United Church of Christ in Iowa Falls.

Those thankful for having shared in Carlton's life include his wife Roberta, daughter, Lisa (Greg) Meinders of Pleasant Hill, IA, son, Brian (Theann) Nassen of San Diego, CA, two step daughters, Colette (Dave) Lansing of Fort Dodge, IA, Cindy (Darwin) Sturtz of Fort Dodge, IA, one sister Nadine (Dean) Smith of New Providence, IA, 9 grandchildren, 5 step grandchildren. Mr. Nassen was preceded in death by his parents, infant daughter and a stepson.
