March 31, 1837 ---- May 29, 1914

H. Judson, a well-known former resident of Correctionville, died at his home at Onawa on May 29, 1914. The funeral was held here Sunday in the Methodist Church, Rev. Jamieson officiating. Rev. Jamieson and the deceased had been intimate friends; both were born on the same day of the same year and annually they had been in the habit of exchanging birthday greetings. The remains were buried in the Correctionville Cemetery. H. Judson and family lived in Correctionville for many years and he conducted a harness shop.

Horace Judson was born at Luvanda, Pennsylvania, March 31, 1837, and died May 29, 1914, aged 77 years, 1 month and 29 days. He served three years during the Civil War and was in Company A, 75th Illinois from September 1862 until July 18, 1865, when he was mustered out. He was married at Clarion, Iowa, to Euphemia Pattison, November 5, 1873, who with six daughters and one son survive him: Mrs. Jesta Kelley of Denver, Colorado, Mrs. Cora Osborne of Randolph, Nebraska, Mrs. Ralph Butler of Mapleton, Mrs. Inez Butler of Fort Dodge, Iowa, Mrs. Lucy Brown, Mrs. Ida Garber of this place, and Purdy Judson of Fort Dodge, Iowa.
