Chester August Schaumburg was born on August 12, 1921 the son of William and Louise Loux Schaumburg at Dayton Township, Wright County, Iowa. He received his education in rural country school near Clarion, Iowa. He graduated from Clarion High School in 1939. He began farming following his education. He was united in marriage to Blanche Cerny of Stanton, Nebraska on September 2, 1942 at St. Peters Lutheran Church, Woolstock, Iowa. The couple engaged in farming and Chester worked for Webster City Products, Webster City. He retired from there following 25 years of service. Following his retirement he continued to farm.
Chester August Schaumburg passed away at his home in Woolstock on December 3, 1993. He had attained the age of 72 years, four months and 19 days. He leaves in passing his wife Blanche of Woolstock, Iowa; sons: Ronald of Woolstock and John of Albuquerque, New Mexico; daughters, Peggy Gillespie of Albuquerque, Vickie Byrum of Anchorage, Alaska, and Lori Downey of Ida Grove, Iowa; seven grandchildren; three brothers, Joseph of Eagle Grove; Leroy of Clarion, and Richard of Lawrence, Kansas; and two sisters Marie Christian, and Georgene (Mrs. Richard) Breiner, both of Webster City, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson, Jared Schaumburg, and a son-in-law, Hugh Williams. He was a member of the St. Peters Lutheran Church in Woolstock, Iowa.
Funeral services for Chester August Schaumburg were held on Tuesday, January 4, 1994 at the St. Peters Lutheran Church in Woolstock, Iowa. The Reverend William Van Nostrand officiated the 10:30 a.m. services and burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove, Iowa. Kastler-Babcock Services was in charge of arrangements.
