Grace Lucille Moss, the daughter of Chris and Nellie (Johnson) Jacobsen, was born March 31, 1923, on the family farm in Humboldt, Iowa. She was adopted by her uncle and aunt, Hobert and Rachel Johnson and she was raised and educated in Humboldt. On February 10, 1944, Grace was united in marriage with Orville H. Moss at Samuel Lutheran Church in Eagle Grove. The couple farmed and raised livestock three miles southeast of Eagle Grove. They also helped to raise her sister, Joan and a cousin, Dick Williams. Orville preceded her in death on September 28, 1986.

Grace was a member of Samuel Lutheran Church – serving as the 3 & 4 year old Sunday school teacher, on Ladies Aide and Circle. She was also a member of Equality Club (served as President), Sewing Club, Antique Club and Forum. Grace loved to bake breads, rolls, pies and 8 kinds of Christmas cookies.

Grace passed away on Thursday, July 11, 2013, at UnityPoint Health - Trinity Regional Medical Center in Fort Dodge, at the age of 90 years. She was also preceded in death by her parents, both birth and adoptive; sons, Rick and Steven and sisters, Joan Newbrough and Marian (Jacobsen) Dupuy. Survivors include her son, Duane Moss of Eagle Grove; daughters, Constance Adams of Eagle Grove and Sharon Woodley and husband Ed of Vincent; cousin, Dick Williams and wife Pat of Blairsburg; seven grandchildren: Jeanette Sumner of Fort Dodge, Gracie Dammann and husband Jesse of Spencer, Melinda Woodley (Casey Hart) of Fort Dodge, Dan Moss of Arizona, Alan Adams of Eagle Grove, Jesse Adams (Sheena Bair) of Webster City, Brian Woodley of Vincent and eleven great-grandchildren: Dawson, Claire, Troy, Olivia, Ashton, MaKayla, MacKinzie, Alex, Jaida, MaKayla and Taylor.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, July 16, 2013, 11:00 a.m. at Samuel Lutheran Church in Eagle Grove with Pastor Richard Taylor officiating. Visitation will be Monday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Foust Funeral Home, Eagle Grove. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
