Last Rites at Ackley for Pioneer Resident
Ackley — Funeral services for Heit Penning, 91, will be held Saturday at 1 p. m. at the home and at 1:30 p. m. at St. John's Evangelical and Reformed church, the Rev. Frank C. Kroll officiating. Burial will be in the Washington Reformed cemetery. Surviving are 6 children, Mrs. Ed Bangasser and Mrs. Winifred Schlampp, Ackley; Mrs. Earl Thompson, Cedar Rapids; Mrs. Chester Baker, Salt Lake City, Utah; John, St. Paul, Minn., and Henry, Hasty, Minn., 11 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. He was born in Germany, came to the United States in 1869 and located near Ackley.
