MRS, PENNING DIES AT ACKLEY
Rites for Aged Resident to Be Held Tuesday at Home, Church

ACKLEY, April 6 — Funeral services for Mrs. Heit Penning, 71, who died Saturday afternoon following an illness of heart trouble, will be held at the home at 1:15 o'clock Tuesday afternoon and at St. John's Evangelical church at 1:30 by the Rev. E. Seybold. Interment will be in the German Reform cemetery. Mrs. Penning was born April 19, 1850, in Darmstadt, Germany and came to America with her parents in June, 1884. On April 3, 1886, she was married to Heit Penning, They lived on a farm four miles north of Austinville. After four years they moved to Rowan where they lived until 1908 when they returned to Ackley which had since been their home. Surviving beside the widower are two sons, John C., St. Paul, Henry of Albert Lea, Minn.; four daughters, Mrs. Tada Bangasser, Mrs. Anna Schlampp, Ackley; Mrs. Mayme Thompson, Baxter; Mrs. Lena Ministar, Salt Lake City, Utah; nine grandchildren, four brothers, Henry Bohlan, Montrose, S. Dak.; Joseph, Sac City; Peter and Heit Bohlan of Alexander.
