November 4, 1939 --- May 8, 2013

Betty E. Rath, 73, departed this life, all too soon, on May 8, 2013. While only a resident of Chesterfield County for a brief time, her honest and friendly disposition, down-to-earth wisdom, bountiful talents, and seamless selflessness were enjoyed by a number of people in the Richmond area. She was born in Wright County, Iowa shortly before the start of World War II and was raised to be hardworking, neighborly, strong, and self- sufficient. Her desire to learn was only surpassed by her willingness to teach. Her progeny includes her sons, Keith, Scott, Will and Jerry; daughters, Teri and Joni; 13 grandchildren and six great- grandchildren. Her remains will be returned to her native Iowa to rest with her parents and a brother. If desired and in lieu of flowers, donations in her memory and honor will be gratefully accepted and appreciated by her family and the American Cancer Society.
