DOWS — Beatriz “Bea” A. Wallace, 24, died at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City on April 26, 2013. A funeral service for Beatriz will be 3 p.m. Thursday, May 2, 2013, at the Abundant Life Chapel, 202 Fairview St., Dows, Iowa. Pastor Bruce Klap will officiate. A visitation will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 2, from 10-3 at the church. Those wishing to express their sympathies in memorials may direct them to the family at 604 Rowan Road, Dows, Iowa 50071.

Beatriz Alonzo was born May 19, 1988, in McAllen, Texas, to Fernando Alonzo Sr. and Eva Alonzo. At a young age Beatriz moved to Iowa with her family. Beatriz met her high school sweetheart and the love of her life, Jacob Wallace, in 2005. She graduated in 2006 from CAL High School. Bea’s dedication and commitment to her life partner continued after high school while Jacob was serving his country during his military tour overseas. They would communicate on a regular basis and she would send care packages to him. On Dec. 19, 2012, Beatriz and Jacob were united in marriage at the Abundant Life Chapel in Dows.

Bea’s attitude toward life was like no others. She valued laughter with her life partner, Jacob, who knew and loved her like no other did. Her love and compassion for Jake continued through highs and lows of their life. Some of her favorite things were the simple passions of a meal at a Chinese restaurant or shopping at the mall at her favorite store, Victoria’s Secret, picking out her favorite perfume. She truly treasured being with her family — her nieces and nephews were dear and true to Bea — and especially enjoyed being around young infants, making them laugh and smile. Beatriz was a self-sufficient woman and oftentimes liked the peace and tranquility of being alone. Her willpower was strong as Bea battled Cystitis Fibrosis since her time of birth and it showed in her spirit to live life to the fullest.

Her love and memories will continue on in the hearts and minds of her husband, Jacob Wallace of Dows; parents, Fernando Sr. and Eva Alonzo of Dows; brother Fernando Jr. (Christina) Alonzo of Dows, and their children, Yolonda, Melissa, Sarah, Heather, Arucard, Eureka, Adalina, Byakuya; brother, Octavio (Krista) Alonzo of Cleman and their children, Melody and Natalie; sister Reyna (Miler) Figueroa of Goldfield and their children, Thomas, Fernando, Yvonne, Ricardo, Miler, Yenevid; mother-in-law and father-in-law Steven and Diane Tagge; brothers-in-law Jonathan S. Wallace; sisters-in-law Jesse Tagge, Rachel Tagge and Jenna Tagge; special uncle Jonathan T. Wallace; along with numerous extended family members. She is preceded in death by her sisters, Marie Avon Alonzo and Yolonda Alonzo; and brother, Octavio Antonio Alonzo. Andrews Funeral Homes Belmond, Iowa.
