Belmond, Iowa — Barbara Ann Kienitz, age 47, a resident of Belmond, Iowa, where she lived at the Mosaic Home on Country Club Drive, died Friday, May 3, 2013, at the Rehabilitation Center of Belmond, where she had been for one week after a short illness.

Barbara, the daughter of Gary and Beatrice (Cushman) Kienitz was born in Worthington, Minnesota, on December 8, 1965. She has been living at Mosaic (formerly Krysilis) in Belmond since 1994, where she received cheerful and loving care. She loved to participate in the activities and going on outings were something that brought great enjoyment to her life. Despite the inflictions that challenged her life journey, Barbara was one who could bring her own joy to the live of others with her smile and hugs.

She is survived by her mother Bea Anderson, Dresser, Wis., three sisters, Rhonda Palmquist, Ellenburg, Wash., Robyn Theese, Barronette, Wis., and Rochelle (Shelly) Schneider, Algona, Iowa; aunts, uncles, and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Gary Kienitz.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., today, Tuesday, May 7, 2013, at Andrews Funeral Home, 516 First street Southeast, Belmond, Iowa. The Reverend Art Zewert will be officiating. Burial will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery, Lakota. Visitation will be at the funeral home today from 11:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorials and cards may be directed in Barb’s memory in care of her mother, Bea Anderson, 1158 190th Street Southeast, Dresser, WI 54009.
